The Many Views of He That Hath An Ear _ Let Him Hear

I saw a Scripture phrase that has always intrigued me. He that hath an ear let him hear. That's the King James view. To him who overcomes is the NIV, One who overcomes ESV, Those who are victorious NLT, He who overcomes I will grant NASB. It says a lot to see these very similar translations from the Old English of the King James. In some ways it shares a little of what I was sharing this morning, much earlier than now. If we listen, and hear, we can be overcomers, we then can be, all of us, as described in Matthew 5, blessed where we might rejoice, prove that we are the salt of the earth, the light of the world. Jesus said that ALL of us are, and could always be, just what these words share. It doesn't matter what version of Scripture, NIV, KJV, NASB, NLT, or ESV, to be able to rejoice, even when we are poor in spirit, mourners, meek of Spirit, hungry in the Spirit, merciful, pure of heart, peacemakers, the persecuted, all of which are proven to, though they be views of suffering of one form or another, they prove to be things that are overcome, can be overcome, and not just overcome, but so much more. And all because we stop, listen, and hear. So, while we complain, chastise, and more, remember, all we're doing is proving Jesus right. But if we see it from the view of Jesus, we're giving those we do such things toward, about, or otherwise, just as much reason to be expressed in the Beatitudes as we are. Now, even I have to think about that one.
