Good
afternoon, and welcome to this Sunday Sermon for Covenant of Hope Ministries. I
am Rev. Laura A. Neff, and the ministry knows me as the Rainbow Minister. You
can find us posted on Sundays. These are our locations online only:
Our Main Video Feed: Covenant_of_Hope
We have
email and Instant Messenger through Facebook available most Tuesdays, Wednesdays,
and Sundays 10AM to 2PM ET US. We’re still working this out between the two of
us as to what will happen, our Elder, Cal Jennings and I. I will be informing
you further in regard to changes being made. These changes were made due to
health reasons. There will be live sermons, and the sermon length will be
shortened dramatically, but we are unsure as to when that might be.
Prayer List: We have many on our prayer list. Some wish to remain anonymous, and others only wish to have their first names mentioned. Our prayer list has grown from last week. This is our current prayer list for this week.
Prayer List: We have many on our prayer list. Some wish to remain anonymous, and others only wish to have their first names mentioned. Our prayer list has grown from last week. This is our current prayer list for this week.
We have a new prayer, and it is most urgent, tragic and more.
This comes from Pastor Mary Kemuma Moriango, wife to Pastor Richard Nyaitira.
He passed away in December. Sadly, he left wife and five children, two boys and
three girls. They need prayers for school fees, food, and shelter for them.
Pray for the memory of Pastor Richard, for his family, and his friends.
Continue your prayers for Pastor Eric from our Outreach
Ministries. He is having issues with his leg and needs funds to manage fixing
the problem, pray that the funds are made available for his health and
strength.
Pray that Elder Cal Jennings would heal at last, don’t just
pray, claim that God can heal him, because we know He can do just that through
the Spirit which was given through Jesus.
Please pray for success for my youngest brother, that his
continued education be beneficial toward a great career.
Pray for my daughter as she prepares for her new career.
Pray for my eldest son who is just beginning his collegiate
pursuits, that he would grow in his learning and understanding.
Pray for friends Karen, Christie, her son Calvin, Art, Heather,
Chris and his family, Jackie and her father, Debby, Tom, Teresa, Hope, during
the start of the year for their issues of many forms.
Pray for Fran who is suffering a lot of pain and other issues.
Pray for my friend Grace as she has had pretty bad migraines.
Pray also that her stepson would make the right decisions. They are having a
hard time, may we have praise from the LORD.
Pray for my friend Laura who continues to heal.
Pray that results from a test done this past week would bring
answers as to my health.
Pray that the Lord will find a way for my family to reach the
ability to solutions that are necessary for health, shelter, and more. Praise
the LORD more than half of those issues have been solved. There are family
members who continue to need prayer. Claim that God knows and will be there.
Pray that pain, which all who we love and care about may suffer,
would ease, no matter the type of pain it would be.
Continue your prayers for the continued success for little
Phoebe Faire. She is doing very well. Praise the Lord.
Pray for our outreach ministries, and all on their separate
prayer lists, no matter where in this world they would be.
Pray for all the members of Covenant of Hope Ministries and all
those who they reach out to. May each of the members find grace and peace in
His love.
Pray for our leaders, local, state, federal and around the
world. That they make good decisions for the many.
May the LORD allow us to claim His truth and His healing hands.
May we listen and hear and understand what those things we listen to and hear
as well.
Prayer: Father in heaven, we
thank You for this day and for these who are here to share it with us. We thank
You for those surprise blessings, for they bring hope. We thank You for the
gifts of friendship and faith. We hold many on our prayer lists that are
offered up to You, since You know their names. We are grateful for You hearing
our prayers. We bring prayers of thanksgiving and so much more in Your Holy
Name through Our Savior Jesus, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, Amen and so it
shall be.
Opening Song: A Living Prayer~By
Alison Krauss
Sermon: Last week we spoke of the king’s
daughter. This week we will describe further in regard to this daughter of the
king and how she will look, who will attend her. They would be brought
rejoicing, filled with gladness, all to enter the king’s palace. God’s
children, not our history’s children, but God’s children, that is what the
writer shares. The fathers of mankind brought forth those who would understand,
who would share that understanding and thus bring wisdom to all. That is what
the first series of verses would share.
Psalm 45:14-16 KJV – She shall
be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions
that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
With gladness and rejoicing
shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.
Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom
thou mayset make princes in all the earth.
We often
have spoken of who SHE is. Think of it this way, there is CHRIST and then the
BODY OF CHRIST. If you liken it to parables, like the Vine and Branches, one I
often bring up, you’ll remember from John 15:1 KJV – I am the true vine and my Father is the husbandman. Every
branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth
fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
So who is
SHE? Well, SHE would be the branches that are IN CHRIST, of course. The
branches, people who believe.
I Peter 2:9 KJV – But ye
are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvelous light:
The
chosen generation, believers, someone not like others who don’t want to
believe, or can’t believe for whatever reason. Yet, still, those who don’t
believe have a chance. Those who realize and do believe are called out of the
darkness into the light. There are a lot of things to think about when we
explore this. Some would wonder how we could be considered kings or princes,
remember, Jesus is the king of kings. That is yet another reason to have us
reminded as we are here in Revelation
1:6 KJV – And hath made us kings and
priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and
ever. Amen.
Our names
remembered, think about it, Jesus died for ALL of us, not just those standing
there in horror as He was hung on that cross, those who believed then, but all
who have believed since, and on to those who would believe after us. Generations
have come and gone, and there are generations to come.
Psalm 45:17 KJV – I will
make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefor shall the people
praise thee for ever and ever.
Praise
God, that’s what we do, even now, we praise God. Why do we do this? There’s an
easier answer, love comes from the heart, and God gave us that heart. God gave
us hope through that love. His name is Jesus. He is our hope, our gift toward
salvation, and His life is foreshadowed here. Scripture does that a lot, give
us a preview of what can be, what will be, if we listen, hear, and believe.
Isaiah 11:10 KJV – And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall
stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the gentiles seek: and his rest
shall be glorious.
The
symbol of truth, the symbol of eternal and unconditional love, and His name is
Jesus, the descendant of Jesse and David, a gift for the people, both Jew and
Gentile. A glorious gift to be shared, not just to be kept to ourselves, but to
be shared, as a gift should be shared.
Malachi 1:11 KJV – For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of
the same my name shall be great amongh the Gentiles; and in every place incense
shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great
among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.
Often the
heathen are spoken of, those are the Gentiles, those who were not seen as
possibly being worthy of even being spoken to, or of, as they didn’t believe
the same as the Jews. Jesus, however, saw that Jews and Gentiles, though
different in how they share belief, even now, still follow God, and Jesus,
through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Great is the LORD, it is truth, regardless
of who we are, so long as we believe, we will see and understand what it means
to have unconditional love. Now, that’s something to think about as we pray in
the prayer Jesus taught us saying: After this manner
therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine
is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)
