Joseph Shows Pharaoh The Meaning Of His Dream From God

Covenant of Hope Ministries Sunday Sermon_1_26_2014

Good afternoon, and welcome to this Sunday Sermon for Covenant of Hope Ministries. I am Rev. Laura A. Neff. The ministry knows me as the Rainbow Minister. Find us posted on Sundays and studies on Wednesday. Our locations are online only:

We have email (instant messenger if you need me) through Facebook every day. These are now extremely variable. We’re still working this out between the two of us as to what will happen, our Elder, Cal Jennings and I. I will inform you further regarding changes. These changes were made due to health reasons. The sermon length has shortened dramatically. We are unsure as to when there might be video presentations.

Prayer List: We have many on our prayer list. Some wish to remain anonymous, and others only wish to have their first names mentioned. Our prayer list has grown from last week. This is our current prayer list for this week.
- Continue your prayers for Phoebe Fair’s family as they continue to grieve her loss.
- Please keep Elder Cal Jennings in your prayers.  He needs multiple surgeries but his heart is not strong enough to go through them.  Besides needing his pacemaker replaced and his surgical hernia repaired he has a precancerous tumor in his stomach that urgently needs to be removed or healed.
- Please pray for my friend Teresa Travis's father. He is dying with fluid on the lungs, a mass in the other, and is too weak for other tests. He is in congestive heart failure. Please pray that he can leave this world without pain, and with dignity. Pray also for his family, that they share the good memories, and their father's love.
- Please pray for my friend Teresa’s sister who is in stage four cancer. Keep Teresa and her daughter in prayer for many other things that have been weighing down on their hearts, minds, and spirits.
- Please keep others known by any of us up in prayer for whatever they might need.
- Please keep my friend Heather in prayer for patience and safe haven.
- Let us keep those who have suffered from the weather in prayer, as they continue to weather the storms, the cold, and the dangers that can be found within them.
- Please keep my whole family in prayer for the pain, suffering, and chaos we are going through.
- Pray that the adversity and the pain we have seen around the world would be relieved, and swept away. May we find common ground in many ways, even if we start with just one step.
- Remember those who have been lost either violently or peacefully this week.
- Keep the ministry in your thoughts, each member, no matter their location, their circumstances, because a group of friends, a ministry, should support one another.
- There are many in our ministry who are searching for more in regard to our presence with my health, and with the health of others. We pray that there would be health found once more, and that we have answers to all and for all.

Belated Birthday Greetings: Elder Cal Jennings’ Birthday was yesterday. May you be blessed with healing and hope this year, dear friend.

Prayer: Father in heaven, we thank You for this day and for these who are here to share it with us. We praise Your grace and glory in the gift of dreams and pray that they are shared hopes with others whom we care about and love. We pray that Your mercy and love would encircle all who are in pain, sorrow, and fear. We pray for healing of heart, body, mind, and soul for the many who would need it. We pray all this in Your Holy Name through the Savior Jesus Christ, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, Amen and so it shall be.

Opening Song: Michele Tumes – Dreams (God Is Good) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4H76PaFpmY

Sermon: We’ve been discussing dreams and today we will study the dreams of Joseph. Now, just to provide the background for this series of verses, Joseph is the youngest son of Jacob. His brothers, out of jealousy, sold him into slavery. As a slave Joseph spent quite a lot of time in Pharaoh’s prison, until, that is, he accurately interpreted the dreams Pharaoh had been experiencing. This after the baker, once a prisoner himself, remembered the ability he had. So, let’s take a look at the dream Pharaoh experienced.
Genesis 41:15-16 KJV – And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.
In all instances of dreaming, it is God speaking to the one having the dream. Sometimes, if not all the time, it takes another to help discern that same dream. So, Joseph is doing just that as Pharaoh continues here in Genesis 41:17-24 KJV – And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:
And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:
And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:
And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:
And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.
And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:
And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:
And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.
Pharaoh wants to understand first, what the dream is about, and second, why it would be so important. Through this he realizes just how important it would be for his kingdom and the survival of all. It is also where, if you look at it, the needs of the many outweighed the needs of the few. Let’s see what the interpretation was according to that which God gave to Joseph. Genesis 41:25-32 KJV – And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.
The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.
And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.
This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.
Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;
And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.
And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
Well, that is one amazing dream! He now knows that everyone must prepare for the worst and hope for the best. What would that best be? It’s obvious, peace, hope, faith, and love, of course. Sharing in the bounties in times of need, note I didn’t say want, would be of benefit, not just of the body, but of the spirit and the soul. Understanding our dreams, even if they are nightmares, which this one borders on, would be important, not just to our bodies, but to our spirits and our souls. They affect us, and as such, will affect those around us. The toughest thing in many cases is for us to be able to put our dreams into words. Or, in the case of Pharaoh, to understand what the dream was telling him. When you dream and it sends you from your bed, good or bad, look at what might have caused that dream. Listen to your heart and you’ll find God gives you an answer. It might not be in a timeframe you’ll like. It might not even be an answer you like. Yet, an answer it will be. Now that’s something to think about as we pray in the prayer Jesus taught us saying: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)

How Golems Can Affect Our Ability to Communicate

Covenant of Hope Ministries Wednesday Sermon_1_22_2014

Good afternoon, and welcome to this Midweek Study for Covenant of Hope Ministries. I am Rev. Laura A. Neff. The ministry knows me as the Rainbow Minister. Find us posted on Sundays and studies on Wednesday. Our locations are online only:

We have email (instant messenger if you need me) through Facebook every day. Look for my name minus the title. These are now extremely variable. Our Elder Cal Jennings is just as variable and can be found on several sites as noted by his sermons.

·        There are two colleagues of my husband who have lost their mother or grandmother. Please keep them and their families in prayer as they continue to grieve their losses.
·        Please keep Elder Cal Jennings in your prayers. He needs multiple surgeries, but his heart is not strong enough to go through them. Besides needing his pacemaker replaced and his surgical hernia repaired, he has a precancerous tumor in his stomach that urgently needs to be removed or healed. He has suffered quite a lot of vertigo and nausea this week.
Please keep others known by any of us up in prayer for whatever they might need.
·        Please keep my whole family in prayer for the pain, suffering, and chaos we are going through.
Pray that the adversity and the pain we have seen around the world would be relieved, and swept away. May we find common ground in many ways, even if we start with just one step.
·        Remember those who have been lost either violently or peacefully this week.
Keep the ministry in your thoughts, each member, no matter their location, their circumstances, because a group of friends, a ministry, should support one another.
Prayer: Father in heaven, we thank You for this day and for these who are here to share it with us. We pray that those in need receive that which is needed. We pray that those who are hurting receive healing and solace. We pray that those in peril will find safe haven. We pray that the adversity seen in this world would find peace. We pray all of these things in Your Holy Name through Jesus our Savior, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, Amen and so it shall be.

Sermon: Today I was inspired by two of Elder Cal Jennings previous sermons. The reason is that they connect in their own ways. The first two verses are from the sermon on Golems. The second is from last week, the sermon on Communication. Now, these may not sound like they connect, but, you’ll see where the Spirit of the Lord has led me here as we start here:
Romans 16:19 King James Version (KJV) For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
Okay, now in the sermon on Golems Elder Cal spoke about those with evil intentions. Well, often those evil intentions would cause a lack of communication, not just with God, but with each other. Wisdom in discernment between what we are hearing between the  good, and the evil, isn’t easy. It takes listening, hearing, and knowing before true wisdom can be obtained with both recognizing evil, and realizing what that same evil does to communication between each other. Now we come upon a different view, as prey, or prisoners and their captors. Many of us feel like we’re between a rock and a hard place. Most of the time that is due to an inability to communicate. So, here we see yet another view of both at once.
Isaiah 49:24 King James Version (KJV) Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
When it comes to our verses on COMMUNICATION we see, in many ways, how we have let our hearts, minds, and spirits stray from the path of righteousness. Notice something also very interesting as to how many years a righteous man can live as shared here in this verse.
Genesis 6:3 King James Version (KJV) And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Ah, and then we get to what happens when we don’t listen and hear. We see how Noah did listen, and heard what God said, regardless of what his neighbors were saying, either in front of his face, or behind his back.
Genesis 7:1 King James Version (KJV) And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Look here! If you remember a while back there were sermons on the seven spirits, or troubles, that when released through our thoughts, words, and actions could wreak havoc on our selves, and our neighbors, whether known or unknown. Communication also fits here as we take a closer look.
Luke 11:26 King James Version (KJV) Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Yet again we speak of Noah and his understanding of God’s words, and both listened and heard them to gain that understanding and thus gaining wisdom, not only in the creation of the ark and the voyage upon the flood waters, but also far into the future.
1 Peter 3:20 King James Version (KJV) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Then there’s a warning of the future as yet to come. It prophesies the coming of both Christ and the Revelation. What intrigues us through the Spirit is the fact that both of these methods toward communication, the Savior, and the judgment of both living and dead, would be connected in more ways than what we see at first glance, and sometimes even at the thousandth glance. Take a look at this next verse to see where this is leading.
Zechariah 14:13 King James Version (KJV) And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
There are other verses that may connect as well. Those are too many to get into in one sermon, yet, you are free to inquire as to those interrelated verses. Life itself is an interesting voyage discovering right and wrong ways to view truth and lies, good and evil, as well as communicating, not just with God, but with our neighbors with a good heart, a willing heart, faith, hope, and peace are all found by the grace of God through Christ and the Holy Spirit why? The reason is simple, unconditional love.

Opening Song: Long Live Your Dreams http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCqgFAmMFRY

Sermon: This week we’re going to do something different. Interpretation of dreams is much like interpreting what another is saying, or a different form of communication. In the case of just about every mention in Scripture it consists of warnings, or reassurances. One of the largest views of the various types of dreams occurs in the Scroll of Daniel as we read about King Nebuchadnezzar. Here is how a wise and devout Daniel shared those interpretations, regardless of the edicts and other laws involved to prevent him from worshipping God as we should. Today we are studying an entire chapter, so let’s take a look.
Daniel Chapter 2 KJV – And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
6 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.
7 They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.
8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
9 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
Notice how Nebuchadnezzar insists that if they are able to interpret dreams then they should know them through means beyond his sharing them vocally. Like many of us, dreams for Nebuchadnezzar would have been fuzzy and unclear after waking. This is the fog he wished to have cleared. Let’s continue with the chapter.
10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
15 He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
So here comes the anger and fury, the wrath of King Nebuchadnezzar because none could tell him what the dreams meant, nor what they were in the first place. What happens next is how that wrath was stopped in its tracks. Here is where Daniel listens to God to discover what it was the king wished to understand.
16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Who is it Daniel speaks to before sleeping? He speaks with his closest friends, others we know well, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Yet, they too don’t know more than to pray and find answers. So, that is what Daniel proceeds to do. Here’s what happened when he did.
19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.
Daniel had the answer! He did thanks to God’s grace and goodness in the gift of that same dream, the one Nebuchadnezzar had. Added to that dream was the interpretation that needed sharing. So, here he goes to speak to the king.
24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
Here he goes, showing Nebuchadnezzar God’s grace, goodness, and love. Let’s see how he does so.
28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
So here Daniel has spoken of what the dream itself held. With that telling, he now will share what it meant. Imagine that Nebuchadnezzar has bent toward Daniel, listening intently as the dream is shared. Then, leaning even closer to understand what it means. So here Daniel shares that knowledge and wisdom.
37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
Now, think about how this not only shares what was seen in the dream itself, but also what God is sharing about the future as yet to come. Why did He give this dream to the king? There is a single reason. He wished the king to be prepared for that which the dream shared. All of us would indeed wish that our dreams could prepare us for whatever would happen in the future. That is what we should have faith in, no matter the dreams we might have, even the nightmares. See how Nebuchadnezzar reacts as he learns what his dream means.
46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.
49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
So now Daniel is a trusted man, a great gift for the king. He is given those things that would make him both powerful and willing to be there for the king in whatever situation. The only request Daniel had was for his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. In that request, Nebuchadnezzar agreed, and had Daniel as their overseer, the trio working to help in the governing of the entire province of Babylon. What great gifts can be brought when understanding and wisdom are brought. These are things God Himself has tried to share with all of us. We, like Nebuchadnezzar, should learn to speak to each other, to see what we can interpret in our thoughts, our dreams, and yes, even in our nightmares, worries, and fears. See, sometimes dreams really do come true.

Wednesday Sermon - Communication

Covenant of Hope Ministries Midweek Study_1_15_2014
Good afternoon, and welcome to this Midweek Study for Covenant of Hope Ministries. I am Rev. Laura A. Neff. The ministry knows me as the Rainbow Minister. Find us posted on Sundays and studies on Wednesday. Our locations are online only:
Rev. Laura’s Other Sites: Facebook & Twitter & Google+ & Blogspot
Our Main Video Feed: Covenant_of_Hope
We have email (instant messenger if you need me) through Facebook every day. Look for my name minus the title. These are now extremely variable. Our Elder Cal Jennings is just as variable and can be found on several sites as noted by his sermons. We’re still working this out between the two of us as to what will happen, our Elder, Cal Jennings and I. I will inform you further regarding changes. These changes were made due to health reasons. The sermon length has shortened dramatically. We are unsure as to when there might be video presentations.

This week's midweek sermon is brought to us by Elder Cal Jennings.

Shed a Little Light
There is a problem troubling the ministry.  We receive no communication from those reading our sermons.  We have no idea how to address your needs or if there is anyone bothering to read the sermons of the ministry.  We would love to do live sermons again but due to health problems we are unable to do so at this time.  My lack of teeth and some other health issues make it difficult for people to understand me when I speak.  My mother tells me I'm unintelligible.  I'm not sure as to what Rev. Laura's problem is with speaking but she may tell you if you ask.  The problem is that no one seems to be asking.  Are she and I writing these sermons only for each other?

We should be communicating and encouraging one another.  We should be helping one another as we are able as well.

Hebrews 10:24-25

King James Version (KJV)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

I'm sure that many of you can see the day approaching.  There are signs in the heavens and on the earth that seem to indicate that we may be in the last days.  Earthquakes, tsunamis, violent storms, etc. were all mentioned in the bible.

Matthew 24:3-8
King James Version (KJV)
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Both the NIV and the Spanish translations of the bible list verse 8 as birth pains or birthing pains.  These signs tell us that the time of Jesus' return is near.

Matthew 24:3-8

New International Version (NIV)
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

It is also mentioned in I Thessalonians.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3

King James Version (KJV)
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Travail means labor.  These two passages make it clear what was being referred to in the bible.  Because the end may be near, we should be comforting one another and building each other up so that we may be strong against what is to come.  If there is no communication, how are we to comfort one another and build each other up?

1 Thessalonians 5:11

King James Version (KJV)
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

This might make it a little more clear and easier to understand.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

New International Version (NIV)
11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Not to be harsh but, if we have any real members, sadly you are not doing.  We would appreciate communication from you even if it's to critique the sermons as long as your intent is not to make personal attacks.  None of us is blameless before the Lord.  I'm sure most of you are familiar with Romans 3:23, but here is the whole statement.

Romans 3:19-26

King James Version (KJV)
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

There is also the example of the woman who had committed adultery whom Jesus saved from being stoned.

John 8:5-7

King James Version (KJV)
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Remember, Jesus came not to condemn but to save us.

John 3:16-17

King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

If there are any other members of the ministry besides Rev. Laura and I, we would really love to hear from you.  A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.  For this ministry to be a success, we need to join together and encourage one another.  Rev. Laura and I, though very ill, have done our best to bring the message of Christ and his salvation to those of you who are housebound or otherwise afflicted. We need
participation of our members or readers if there are any.

I know there are detractors to the ministry, but that is to be expected in the last days.

2 Timothy 3:3-5

King James Version (KJV)
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

We already know who the accuser is.

John 8:44

King James Version (KJV)
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The devil will meet his end though, as promised.

Revelation 12:10

King James Version (KJV)
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

We are doing our best to comfort and communicate with you and comfort you in your time of need, so please don't fear communicating with us and comforting us in our times of need as well.  A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Mark 3:22-25

King James Version (KJV)
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Will you stand with us?  If so, please don't forget to comment.

We Gather Together

Love, Hope, Peace, and Christ Be With You,

Opening Song: Where Joy and Sorrow Meet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhCXEdjyZNY

Sermon: This week we are going to look at sorrow and being sorrowful. There are many in our ministry and among our friends who have either suffered, or are suffering sorrow. It doesn’t matter what types of sorrows those would be. In fact, what does matter is that we are keeping those men, women, and yes, children, in our thoughts, our prayers, that there be hope to see that the good memories can help with their grief. Friends, family, and yes, even strangers can bring hope from interesting directions. God can bring solace, as we all could do the same. This can be done through a phone call, a card or letter, flowers, a hug, a smile, a kiss, and so many other ways. Let’s see how Scripture shares this. There are almost as many in the Old Testament as there are in the New Testament, splitting nineteen and fifteen between them. Due to this fact, there are many ways to consider this. What will be considered would in fact be how God helps us soothe our sorrows. We don’t want to grieve forever. In fact, we should indeed grieve, but only for a while. Celebrate the lives of those lost. Celebrate the good memories, and the lessons learned from the bad ones. This is very difficult for so many to manage. It is also something every culture, every form of religion, faith, or creed, including every view of the Christianity, would do differently. Why is this? Every human being absorbs their pain, sorrow, fear, joy, hope, and more, DIFFERENTLY. Why is that? God gave us free will, our own individual hearts, minds, spirits, and souls. In Scripture, JOY and SORROW would be found together in only eleven verses but in only seven of the scrolls. Let us study these beginning with
Esther 9:22 KJV – As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor. What wonderful thoughts! Don’t you think so? Changing sorrow to joy. Mourning transformed to a good day. Then there are the days of feasting and joy, sharing, and giving. There’s nothing better than to transform those sorrows, those pains, and our mourning into celebration. Why should we do this? Well, a life has been lived, a tragedy, trial, or tribulation has been faced, you survived, and surpassed that which brought it to be. That’s worthy of celebration. Don’t you think? Through God’s love we can overcome, and build upon the hope as to what tomorrow brings. This next verse shows just that as a sufferer finds a way to turn that sorrow to joy here in Job 41:22 KJV – In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.
Ah, you  remember the thought that laughter is good medicine, in fact the best medicine. Here we see just that in Proverbs 17:21 KJV – A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Oh and then we can’t forget the fact that we might feel like prisoners to this life but there’s the hope of the future, as shared with the freedom and the celebration of that freedom, joy, gladness, what’s better than that? It overcomes fear, pain, sorrow, as shared here in these three verses from Isaiah.

Isaiah 35:10 KJV – And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isaiah 51:11 KJV – Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing, unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Isaiah 65:14 KJV – Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of the spirit.
We see the same again here in the scroll of Jeremiah 31:13 KJV – Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
There is the beautiful hope that is the resurrection of the Messiah. We see it shared by our Savior here in John 16:19-22 KJV – And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
The joy that Jesus wanted to share with us didn’t sink in as it should have. Instead, people were sad and sorrowful where they should have rejoiced. Jesus died for US. He descended to hell, to suffer, and then to realize that there is both joy and salvation in the gifts of God, and He could prove it to us. We just have to accept it, share it, hold it in our hearts. That’s what is shared here in II Corinthians 2:3 KJV – And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
Notice, we see in the visit to Corinth, that there is the need to share joy and celebration AHEAD of his arrival. Why is that? Nobody wants to walk into a world of sorrow. They would much rather overcome it and find a reason to celebrate life, love, faith, and hope in God’s gift of unconditional love.
