Restoring Faith Even in the Face of Pain and Suffering

Covenant of Hope Ministries Wednesday Sermon_2_18_2014
Good afternoon, and welcome to this Midweek Study for Covenant of Hope Ministries. I am Elder Cal Jennings. Find us posted on Sundays and studies on Wednesday. Our locations are online only:
Rev. Laura’s Other Sites: Facebook & Twitter & Google+ & Blogspot
Our Main Video Feed: Covenant_of_Hope
We have email (instant messenger if you need me) through Facebook every day. Look for my name minus the title. These are now extremely variable. Our Elder Cal Jennings is just as variable and can be found on several sites as noted by his sermons. We’re still working this out between the two of us as to what will happen, our minister Rev. Laura A. Neff and my self, Elder Cal Jennings. We will inform you further regarding changes. These changes were made due to health reasons. The sermon length has shortened dramatically. We are unsure as to when there might be video presentations.

Prayer List: We have many on our prayer list. Some wish to remain anonymous, and others only wish to have their first names mentioned. Our prayer list has grown from last week. This is our current prayer list for this week.
- Continue your prayers for Phoebe Fair’s family as they continue to grieve her loss.
- Please keep Elder Cal Jennings in your prayers as his health doesn’t know where it wants to be.
- Please pray for my friend Teresa’s sister who is in stage four cancer. Keep Teresa and her daughter in prayer for many other things that have been weighing down on their hearts, minds, and spirits.
- Please keep others known by any of us up in prayer for whatever they might need.
- Please keep my friend Heather in prayer for patience and safe haven.
- Please keep my whole family in prayer for the pain, suffering, and chaos we are going through.
- Pray that the adversity and the pain we have seen around the world would be relieved, and swept away. May we find common ground in many ways, even if we start with just one step.
- Remember those who have been lost either violently or peacefully this week.
- Keep the ministry in your thoughts, each member, no matter their location, their circumstances, because a group of friends, a ministry, should support one another.
- There are many in our ministry who are searching for more in regard to our presence with my health, and with the health of others. We pray that there would be health found once more, and that we have answers to all and for all.
Sermon: Romans 8:38-39
King James Version (KJV)

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I just went through a risky and painful procedure on my heart to see if there was anything that could be done to help. Although it wasn't as successful as some might think, it has somewhat improved my breathing and my eyesight and hopefully will stop the frequent occurrences of passing out. Just when I thought all was lost, God guided the hands of the doctor into making something right even if he says that he only went in and looked to see what could be done. He told me that he was going to try medications since the passageways were too small to splint, yet, I'm breathing and seeing better. As close as death seemed, God snatched me up from its clutches once again, proving that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I was ready to accept my fate, quit the ministry, and resign myself to fading off to the other side. Evidently, God had other plans. Just as Job was near death and was restored, so was I restored to God's service.

Hebrews 10:23-25
King James Version (KJV)
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Sometimes, when we think we're at the end of our rope, when all is lost, and all that's left is for the fat lady to sing, God writes a new chapter for our lives. It's up to us to get up and do something with it. Well, today I'm getting up and doing something with it in spite of the pain. My heart is pumping well enough for me to see the screen even if barely, so I'm doing my job and writing something that I hope will enlighten and inspire some of you.

We should all do what we can to promote the good news that Jesus died for our sins and freed us from judgment if only we believe in Him. God gave dominion over the earth to Jesus for his selfless sacrifice and in turn freed us all. That's right. We're free of judgment from sin. Does that mean we should run out and do everything sinful we want? No. We were bought with a price and in return should do good to honor the one who paid that price.

1 Corinthians 6:12-20
King James Version (KJV)
12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

God was warning against being an idolater of the lusts of the flesh as a Christian. He compared it to joining with a harlot... a prostitute. So how now is the law fulfilled?

Galatians 5:14
King James Version (KJV)
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

We need to love our neighbors as ourselves. That means that we need to love our neighbor regardless of race, religion, sexual preference, nationality, or anything else that might appear to separate us. Regardless of our differences, we are to love our neighbors and do to them as we would have them do to us. You recognize that. It's the Golden Rule.

What other things should Christians be concerned with doing?

Galatians 5:22-26
King James Version (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

We should be good, kind, loving, longsuffering, gentle, faithful, meek, and temper ourselves. We are to avoid the lusts of the flesh, not only sexual lust, but lust for power and money as well. Of course, we all need enough on which to live, but beyond that, we should not be concerned other than to help others and to fulfill our work for the Lord. We don't need mansions, sports cars, limousines, golf courses, and bowling alleys to fulfill God's work. Instead, that money should be concentrated on food banks, food kitchens, shelter from the weather for the homeless, hospitals for healing the poor free of charge, and the other good works that Christ and his Apostles did. These days though, most of us are having trouble meeting our own needs for survival.

All of the money had become concentrated in the hands of a wealthy few, leaving little for the rest of us to survive on. This is one reason the bible states the following:

1 Timothy 6:10
King James Version (KJV)
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

We hear many preachers these days telling people how Jesus will make you rich. Yes, he will make us spiritually rich, but why would he give us something that is the root of all evil? Would a Father give his son a snake when he asked for bread?

Luke 11:11
King James Version (KJV)
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

No, the Father gives only good gifts. Gifts that enrich your lives and your spirits, not your financial status. God is love and wants us to live in peace with one another. He does not want us to do harm to others, but help others when we can as we can. If everyone pitched in and did their share to help others, the world would be a much better place for everyone, including those doing the helping. There would be more joy, more love, more peace, more kindness. The whole world would open its eyes and want to be a part of that world. After all, how many want to go where they're always condemned and made to feel they need to be punished. Don't be fooled. There are many that fall into this category but that is not what Jesus offered us. He did, however, warn us against doing some things.

Galatians 5:19-21
King James Version (KJV)
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Although they may be lawful for us, they are not expedient. They are not good for us and they are not good for others or as examples to others. They keep our light from shining through the darkness. They lend toward causing strife between neighbors. They cause fights. They cause wars. They cause envy. These things do not bring about the fruit of the Spirit but the spirit of darkness which engulfs many. It is better for us to turn away from these things and to concentrate on taking care of our bodies which are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We shouldn't partake in things that destroy but things that build up so that we may build up one another. Doesn't that sound like the reasonable thing to do?

Love, Hope, Peace, and Christ be with you,

Cal Jennings

Opening Song: Anytime You Need A Friend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNxXyKjiyoQ

Sermon: Trust, we’ve spoken about trust, and being thankful that, first we can do so, and second we have learned how to in the first place. The first, and most important one for us to trust is God. He, above all, would be trustworthy. Man is fallible, or weak in some ways. We have our weaknesses. There are no doubts there. His mercy is found within the trust He shares. It is also seen when we are thankful and willing to trust in Him. See how this would be shared in Psalm 118:1 KJV – O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is so good; because his mercy endureth for ever.
He is so good. His mercy lasts, survives, forever. Now, mercy is something many of us tend to beg for. We do so when we don’t know what to do next, or perhaps when we feel like the whole world is against us. Everyone gets to that point on occasion. It takes practice to believe that God is there to take those burdens off our shoulders. That’s where this next verse comes in. Psalm 118:6 KJV – The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
There is another Psalm that shares this. Though many see it in a different light than what would be shared here in this one. That Psalm is number twenty-three. I shall not want. That’s what it shares. Man can’t take away what is already held in our hearts, the greatest gift God can give, His everlasting and enduring love. That gift is shared and seen as long as we remember that trust can be built, even in the worst of circumstances. Trust should be placed in the right places. That’s what this next verse shares. Psalm 118:8 KJV – It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
Now, we’re still talking about trust. There are many places we’ll find in regard to trust. Psalms is just one of them. Yet, you’ll find it there sometimes where you least expect it to be. Take this verse for example. Trusting in Him takes practice, but, we should trust ALL the time, not just once in a while. That’s what this verse shares. Psalm 62:8 KJV – Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Pour out your heart. Give it all to Him. Why should we? Well, His arms would provide us the best view of safety and security, of course. We often have to think about that. It takes a lot to absorb the fact that our best haven is in the arms of the LORD. There are views that prove it is better to trust in God than in man. One of those is here in Isaiah 2:22 KJV – Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
So, who is man accountable to? Well, all are accountable to God. That’s why we should give our trust to God before man. Yeah, a lot in this world forget that one. Love is something that extends from His heart to ours. It is the ultimate portrayal of trust. To do so brings His love that much closer to us. There are many reasons we should be cautious when trusting others beyond God. This is one verse that shares His feelings on that. Jeremiah 17:5, 7 KJV – Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD,
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Remember, trust is both found in the LORD, and given by the LORD. He trusts when you’re willing to trust Him. You remember the story of Abraham, who was willing to go and do the very last thing he wanted to do. God knew He could trust Abraham with all things, as a FRIEND. That’s the best part. Once we learn fully to trust in God, we learn that we can be true FRIENDS. Now that’s something to think about as we pray in the prayer Jesus taught us saying: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)

We have many we bring to You in prayer for healing, faith, hope, and peace. Bring strength to their hearts and spirits with every difficult situation and be there beside them. Bring them faith and peace in the knowledge that You would be here with us through the gifts of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, Amen and so it shall be.

Opening Song: We Gather Together

Sermon: This week has been rocky for many of those we know, and even for ourselves. Yet, faith can exist regardless of that fact. The reason for that? We can gather together in faith, hope, and love in His peace and grace. Now, the first verse here talks about rehearsing. Well, we memorize verses and chapters from the Scriptures. That is just what they are sharing. Wouldn’t you want to share exactly what you are thinking without stumbling? It’s not easy to rehearse for any style of speaking in front of a group, or even with a group. So take a look here at this verse in Acts 14:27 KJV – And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
We know the song We Gather Together. There are many times that particular song has been shared between us. That, as many spiritual songs, has roots in Scripture. Open the door to faith as we gather together, not just for the Jews, but for the Gentiles too. How awesome that would be. Here we see Christ’s take on opening the door to faith, and His ability to help us keep it that way. See it here in Revelation 3:8 KJV – I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Every sermon has a list, a prayer list, shared from each of those willing to request prayers for any reason. It doesn’t matter if it’s a physical, emotional, spiritual, or even financial rocky road, they can all be answered through prayer. How can it be so? We pray together as one, through Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit. These three verses share that in many ways.
Colossians 4:3 KJV – Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I also am in bonds:

I Corinthians 16:9 KJV – For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

II Corinthians 2:12 KJV – Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord.
When we see these verses we often wonder about that open door. It is opened to us. What does it signify? Well, it signifies the path toward peace, love, hope, and faith, of course. Those are the gifts that comfort us, not just alone, but together. This is shared more in Romans 1:12 KJV – That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
More must be considered. We have to talk about Him. It may seem like we’re not getting through to others, but still we must say what He wishes us to share. Faith has been shaken through our ministry with a lack of communication. It is hard to have that same faith without sharing it. That’s what this last verse shares in Philippians 1:27 KJV – Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
One heart, one mind, one spirit, one soul, that’s how it should be together. Yes, it is difficult to manage. In fact, some would consider it impossible. We should never think that way. With love even the impossible is possible. His love is always there for us. All we have to do is have faith and believe as we gather together, even in spirit.

We thank You for the gift of hope for their safety, their healing, and more. We pray for Your grace that it may shine down on us, in Your Holy Name, through the Savior Jesus Christ, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, Amen and so it shall be.

Sermon: We all know that Satan tempts us just as he tempted Jesus. In many instances though, we are too quick to blame God or the devil for our failures in temptation. Often times, the responsibility lies with us.

James 1:13-18
New King James Version (NKJV)
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

We have a responsibility to try to control our lusts and desires. This isn't because God doesn't want us to have fun. It's because God wants to keep us safe. How much trouble has come because of our carnal desires, lust for money, and lust for power? Most wars in the world are caused by at least one of these three things. If we can learn to control ourselves better, the world would be a better place.

----

Rev. Laura’s Thoughts: Elder Cal has a great point here. We often forget that keeping our cool is much more important than exploding into an argument, no matter what it would be about. Safety is always important. This is why watching what we say and do is something we must work toward and on.

----
James 4:1-4
King James Version (KJV)
4 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

We all have times when we slip and fail. Anyone who claims to have lived a perfect life is lying. None of us are completely guiltless. Even if we have been up to now, there is always a chance that we will eventually give in to temptation. Still, we are to do our best to resist.
One weapon we have in resisting temptation is prayer.

----

Rev. Laura’s Thoughts: Again Elder Cal brings up a good point. Resisting temptation, any type of temptation, is something we sometimes forget takes work to manage. Doing our best isn’t something we can be lacking toward. We must work toward doing our best. The best weapons we have is prayer, which is driven by faith and hope and the power of love.

----
Luke 22:40
King James Version (KJV)
40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

We also know this from the Lord's Prayer where he says, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” God does not desire for us to fall into temptation. He knows that temptation exists both from Satan and from our own actions. Men tempt women. Women tempt men. Men tempt each other, especially for issues of power and advancement. We have become so bad as a people that Satan doesn't have to do anything but sit back and watch as we create our own problems. We fight amongst ourselves over who's better than whom, we fight over someone else's sins of the past, we fight over difference in political views, we fight over almost everything. We're all guilty of it to some degree or another. Of course, it's better to state your honest opinion than to lie but we should try to remember to keep our statements as non-combative as possible and try not to make personal attacks. That's hard for some of us to learn. I've certainly had my difficulties and still struggle with it today.

----

Rev. Laura’s Thoughts: This goes for EVERYTHING in our lives, beliefs, and thoughts we manage to give voice. Like Elder Cal, I have voiced things I shouldn’t have. Yet, there are things I have brought up that truly and truthfully need to be addressed. This is one thing that has often become a point of contention, with everyone, not just a select few. Free will is important, but so is restraint in the use of it. That is the struggle we all face, sometimes every moment of every day.

----

God promises not to tempt us beyond what we are able to withstand, but sometimes we wish God didn't trust us so much. Sometimes it seems that God has pushed us far beyond what we are able to handle, especially when it seems like everything hits at once. Still, everyone goes through this experience.

1 Corinthians 10:13
King James Version (KJV)
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Temptation is always with us, always around us, and always inside us. That's why Paul said, “I die daily.”

----

Rev. Laura’s Thoughts: How often have we ever realized or even thought of the ideal that we “die daily” because we don’t think first and act afterwards? Temptation often takes over when we least expect it to do so.

----
1 Corinthians 15:31-33
Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
31 I die daily, I protest by your glory, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
32 If (according to man) I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me, if the dead rise not again? Let us eat and drink, for to morrow we shall die.
33 Be not seduced: Evil communications corrupt good manners.

Now, it's easy to be seduced, especially if you were raised or had to spend a lot of time in an environment where evil communication was the norm. You didn't even know it was evil, at least by the time you got away from that place. I fight with that every day. Sometimes I forget that in some circles certain things are inappropriate. Still, I try to correct myself more and more each day. Some days are worse than others, especially with my failing memory and my up and down health. Whenever I catch myself though, I do my best to move forward with something more godly. It's easy to forget our manners sometimes, even when we've been trained from birth, especially if we get into a heated discussion. Sometimes we just have to step back for a minute and gain some perspective on the situation before we can get a handle on our emotions.

Things aren't always as they appear and people aren't always who they say they are. It's better to trust someone who's honest and faulted than someone who deceives you into believing that they are what they are not. Sometimes a person is there just to agitate you. We need to learn to walk away from those situations and avoid those people when possible.

----

Rev. Laura’s Thoughts: Like Elder Cal, I can sometimes forget who I am speaking. I also will forget my manners. Then you can see it, and some will call me on that. Others will miss the point of what I’m saying and I’ll have to back off. It’s just not easy for all of us to remember that. It doesn’t matter who we are, or what it would involve.

----

Let’s think about it as we pray in the prayer Jesus gave us. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

The Types and Styles of Faith and How We Lose Them originally published 2/2/2014

Welcome to Covenant of Hope Ministries and our sermon or midweek study. You will normally see us posted on Sunday and Wednesday. I am Rev. Laura A. Neff. Our ministry was built on the truth of God’s love. It doesn’t conform to society’s wishes. This ministry shares the Word of God, the Spirit of Christ Jesus. Those who know me well will recognize that there are definitive differences in the creation of every sermon from this point forward. It is God’s will that has brought this to be. We wish only that God’s truth will be shared within His words as brought to us by the Spirit as it fills my heart, mind, and soul to be shared with my hands, but with His words alone.

Prayer List: We have many on our prayer list. Some wish to remain anonymous, and others only wish to have their first names mentioned. Our prayer list grows or changes every week. This is our current list.
- Please pray for Brother Wayne Bartosh. He was in a serious accident back during the summer. He suffered several broken bones including his hip, his neck, and more. During those months he spent quite a while in the hospital and then in a nursing home. He has only returned home very recently. He continues to have issues. Though he was able to walk his daughter down the aisle he has had serious issues ever since. May the good Lord heal him well and give the doctors the best ability to assist in that healing.

- Please pray for Elder Cal Jennings who has been suffering greatly with his health. May the Lord bring his spirits up and help heal him. Please also pray that his housing needs will be seen to that he may return to his familiar surroundings at long last.

- Please pray for relief in the trials and tribulations for Sister Theresa and myself as we have had a great many over the past year and more.

- Be thankful for each day we live as we do not know what tomorrow brings.

- Pray for our nations that the voice of God be heard through the Spirit.

- Pray for the victims of the terrorist attacks in France and California, USA over the past few weeks. May they be given justice in every way. May the Lord bring solace to their families and friends of those who were lost. For those who survived may the Lord bring them healing as they are surrounded by their families and friends.

- Pray for our friends and families that their tomorrows bring blessings and pray our own be the same.

- Pray for those suffering as a result of the terrors that have occurred just this past week around this world.

- Pray for our sick and wounded that they may heal.

Prayer: Father in heaven, our prayer today is to have the Spirit bring clarity to each of our decisions. We thank You for that gift and the many more You have brought us. May our fears be drawn out of us. Help us to see the many gifts Your love brings and the unknown locations it might be found. May our pain and sorrow be eased. May peace be brought from our hearts and shared with others. May Your gifts of love shine through us toward others. We pray for the poor, the sick, the sorrowful, the wounded, and the frightened. We pray for the soldiers, the Samaritans, the children, and the rest. We pray in thanksgiving for every gift brought us. We pray that every tomorrow bring good things. For each of these we pray in Your Holy Name, through our Savior Jesus Christ, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, Amen and so it shall be.

Sermon: When we first had this sermon we spoke of the various types of faith. There are, truly, interesting views. Yet, still, there aren’t, apparently, any that truly match with this first pair of verses. They represent the saving, or salvation form of faith. Take a look at what these two verses have to share.

Romans 10:9-10 KJV  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Yes, there are styles or types of faith. It sounds strange. In fact, there are many who have questioned this. When you see these verses, do you wonder if you truly praise God and Jesus through the gift of the Holy Spirit? Yes, we can indeed do just that. Did you ever think that the gifts given would provide the way to save our hearts, our spirits, our souls?

Yes, we must work that faith, not just within ourselves. We also must share that with others. Remember the fact that Jesus once told us faith without works is dead. Let’s take a look at the view of temporary faith would be.

Luke 8:13 KJV - They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Why is this considered temporary? There are no roots that hang on within the heart and spirit and soul. For this reason we have seen many, and in fact we ourselves, stray from faith in the belief of Jesus. I have, truthfully, been told that certain things I have shared would actually be against the teachings of Jesus and God. Yet, truthfully, that isn’t what they were intended to portray. It is the misinterpretation of the truth God and Jesus brought that causes our faith to disappear, and, in fact appear temporary, not just in our hearts and minds, but in those of others. We continue now with yet another view of faith, that of an intellectual view.

James 2:19 KJV – Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

You can’t always discern good from evil. That is often why we get lost in our faith. Yet, if we pay attention, we can see it. Now, anyone can get lost in faith, even ministers. You have seen my frustration and that of many others when it comes to our faith and believing in His strength. The next view will soon share itself here in three verses from the gospels and one in Acts.

Matthew 8:29 KJV – And behold they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou son of God? Art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Torment them? Why would they believe they were tormented by God and Jesus? There is a reason. They didn’t want to see the truth. Yet, they were also doing just that. Jesus was doing as God wished. He was showing the world that they were worldly, as opposed to devout, holy, truthful, and loving God.

Mark 1:24 KJV – Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee thou art, the Holy one of God.

Leave them alone! That’s what they’re crying about. They don’t want to see what is wrong. They believe that HE is the one who is evil and is ready to destroy them. When, in actuality, He came to save them, as well as us here in the future. Still yet, not just one view of fear would be noted. Here we see yet another pair of the same.

Luke 4:34 KJV – Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth: art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

Intelligence at last is shared, not just with the actions and words of Jesus, but with the understanding of everyone. Oh now comes the best part. They realize truth is right in front of their noses. Yet, will that realization stick? There’s yet another question.

Acts 16:17 KJV – The same followed Paul and us, and cried saying, These men are the servants of the most high God which shew unto us the way of salvation.

The way to salvation is where? It’s through Jesus Christ, not just in His life, but His death and ressurection as well. Next we see the path of Christ, the path of peace. So, what happens if we fall off that path? Here we will see where faith is dead.

James 2:17, 20 KJV – Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Oh wow, we sit there and don’t do anything to share His truth. Yes, no matter who we are, where we live, or what we’ve been through. If we sit on our proverbial hands in regard to believing, you can say a sad farewell to the path of God unless you use those footprints and walk inside them once more.
